2014, Difficult Vinatge, Good Result (2014, 極具挑戰的年份 但 結果美好 )

2014 is not an easy vintage for Charles Van Canneyt, one of the top producer among young generations from Domaine Hudelot Noallat. In 2014 they have been through a rainy August and postponed the harvest to September 15th,a bit later than usal.. Thankfully the quality and quantity are satisfying enough at the end. During our visit we tasted from villiage wines to top Grand Crus, and we were surprisingly impressed by Vougeot 1er Cru, which ⋯⋯ is an underestimated super 1er Cru in Charles’ mind. “The parcel is located just below Les Amoureuses, making the Vougeot have more Chambolle Musigny style, really delicate and elegant.”

2014 performed excellent as usual: very concentrated Clos de Vougeot, deep and powerful Romanee-Saint-Vivant with complexity and good structure to show that it came from 95 year old vines very worthwile to expect.
